Director of Theatre Arts, Simmons Middle School
Delle Kincaid is currently in her seventeenth year of teaching at Simmons Middle School, and her thirteenth year as the Director of Theater Arts. As a director and choreographer, she has worked most recently with various groups across the state including Theatre Tuscaloosa (Tuscaloosa, AL), Lee Lyric Theater (Huntsville, AL), Mountain Brook High School, Beaux Arts Krewe (Birmingham, AL), and Academy Children's Theater (Huntsville, AL). In addition to musical theatre, Mrs. Kincaid choreographs several competitive show choirs around the state including Helena Middle and High (Helena, AL), Berry Middle (Hoover, AL), Synergy (Hoover, AL) and the Alabama All-State Choir. Her show choirs have placed at various competitions and her works in the theater arts have been equally successful.
Mrs. Kincaid received her Masters of Education degree from the University of West Alabama and her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. In addition, she holds a K-12 certification for Theater and earned her prestigious National Board Certification in 2010 and has since become an NBCT mentor. She is a member of the National Thespian Society, the Alabama Theater Educators Association, the Alabama Educators Association, and the National Educators Association. Previously, Mrs. Kincaid served on the executive board of the State Thespian Chapter and as the state's Thespian Festival Director. In 2016 she was named the Teacher of the Year for Simmons.
Delle Kincaid is married to John (Hoover High School Choral Director) and they reside in Hoover, AL. They are the proud parents of Matthew, 18 and Tess, 13 who attend Auburn University and Simmons Middle School respectively. She is honored for her children to attend and/or graduated from Hoover City Schools alongside her students.
