Mrs. Thibodeaux and Ms. Lundt meet with special education students’ 5th grade case managers in May to help with a smooth transition into middle school for the following school year. Special care is taken to review each file and discuss each student’s strengths and needs. Math and reading foundations classes are offered based on each student’s individual needs during class times that do not interfere with the student’s general education classes. In class support is also provided, as needed, by Mrs. Thibodeaux or Ms. Lundt. Students are encouraged to come in before school and during home base for extra help with assignments and organization. If a parent feels their student needs evaluation for special education services, they should contact their student’s team teachers or grade level counselor.  

Transitioning into middle school can be scary for both the student and the parent, but we are here to help! Mrs. Thibodeaux and Ms. Lundt are available to answer scheduling questions, give tours of the school, set up team meetings, etc.
